FabFitFun Summer 2015 Unboxing

I've been patiently waiting to get this for a while now, in fact, the whole month of July, I've seen my fair share of this box being reviewed and was wondering when mine would show up on my front steps so I could do my own.  This could not have come at a better time; feeling under the weather and seeing my little black box was an instant pick me up.

For those who are not familiar with FabFitFun, it is a quarterly subscription box (once per season) that is geared towards women who love beauty, fitness and lifestyle items.  I have been subscribed to FabFitFun for a year now and I have been pretty satisfied with the curation of the boxes.  They cost 49,99$ per box and easily packs four times the cost with items that vary from skin care, to fitness DVDs, to make-up.  I've inserted my referral link above if you're interested in trying it out.

It's always neatly packaged with a description card for the items.  I love reading the card to know a little bit more about the products but I usually keep it until after the unboxing.

I'll start off with the spoilers:
So we first have The Everyday Wireless Speaker by FabFitFun retailing at 29.99$.  I could choose between pink or teal.  Since I think Alex will be using it as much as I will, I decided to go for a gender neutral color.  It is loud which is great considering we'll likely be using it outside.  I have not really gotten a grap of it but I'll let Alex figure it out.  I like it though!

Next I have Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss in Flush retailing at 19$ (23$ on their website).  This is a perfect color for me as I like subtle colors.  As you can see, it's very sheer with a hint of pink. The formula is not sticky and I don't detect any fragrance in it either.

Next we have Wren 14Kt Rose Gold Heart with Black Sapphire necklace retailing at 100$.  This is so dainty and very cute!  I love it!  This is the type of item I would not go out to get for myself but am really happy to have in my possession.  Those who know me, know I am fond of crystals.  Sapphires are calming stones and black ones are especially used to help with meditation.  This is very thoughtful considering the next item I will show you.

Next item is a 3 month subscription to Headspace. This retails at 38,85$.  I knew I was getting this in the box so I looked it up before receiving the card and little did I know, there's a free Take 10 meditation program which consists of 10 minutes of meditation for 10 days.  I am presently on day 6 (should be day 7 but I forgot to do it yesterday) and honestly, I really like this program. It's giving me a gift of clearing my mind of my anxiety.  There's different programs you can follow ranging from self esteem, to sleep, to relationships.  I am absolutely looking forward to using this subscription.  And guys, this is an actual gift certificate, you don't need to put in your credit card information.  I love cards like this!

Then there's the Scratch Nail Wraps retailing at 12$.  I can't find this specific pattern but they all retail at the same price unless they are on sale.  There's also a user-friendly guide to applying these on the nails. I'm absolutely goign to be applying these this afternoon.

This is a Hello Konjac Cleansing Sponge retailing at 12$. I'm having a hard time finding this online but this is the new hype.  I tried it on as soon as I got the box and let me tell you, I absolutely love how smooth this is and will definitely be using this in my daily regime. LOVE it!

Then there's FabFitFun X CosmoBody Jump Rope retailing at 14$. Alex and I have been talking about challenging each other to a jump rope competition.  We were just missing one more jump rope and here it is!  We'll be taking this outside (maybe in the next few days when my stomach bug is over).

Next item is Inkling Scents Sultry Roll-On Oil Perfume retailing at 25$.  Notes of this perfume are: creamy sandalwood, white amber, lotus flower, orchid, Bulgarian rose and silky vanilla.  I'm not usually a fan of floral scents but for some reason, this one works for me.  I do like this scent but a little goes a long way.  I absolutely love roll-on perfume and am an absolute fan of oil formats too.

Then we have Gorge I'll Make You Look Amazing Daily Spray retailing at 24.95$.  This smells fantastic, kind of like a tropical beach.  I am looking forward to using this product on a daily basis to see if it does what it claims.

This was a sponsored item and as far as sponsored goes, this is HUGE.  This is Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturizer retailing at 7.99$  It is full-sized and will definitely be used.  It leaves behind a cucumber smell that is pleasant and the skin is smooth after each use.  Sponsored items are just added bonuses and don't count towards the value of the box but I do have to say I am impressed with this sponsored item!

That's everything that was in the FabFitFun Summer 2015 box and the retail value of all items minus the sponsored item is 275,79$.  Pretty amazing if you ask me since I only paid for 49,99$ for this box!  As always, please feel free to leave comments or questions below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag "Unboxing" July 2015

I got a notice in the mail that my Ardene Haul came through so I checked in my mailbox and sure enough, I had a big pink envelope inside but was not expecting to see my Rainbow Honey envelope so soon beside it; it was only expected for Thursday! I'm definitely not complaining; I REALLY love this subscription.
For those unfamiliar with Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag, it's a lovely subscription from an indie nail polish company that send you 6 products (usually three nail polishes and 3 beauty care like lotion, lip balm, cuticle oil, etc.) per month.  It's 10$/month for the mini and 25$/month for the large size.  I opted for the mini since I never ever finish a nail polish so I thought it would be a better deal for me.  Shipping is free for US and 6.95$ for Canadians.
I forgot to take a picture of the packaging intact so much I was excited to get inside that package (it's bubble wrapped, and it has a Rainbow Honey sticker on it, I love the simplicity).  Here's a picture of the products I have discovered inside the Mystery Bag.
A shea butter body treatment, a body splash, a lip scrub and three nail lacquers; the added beauty products are all products I had yet to try from Rainbow Honey so I am quite thrilled with this selection.  Let me break these down individually.

Rainbow Honey Organic Shea Butter Treatment (1/4oz) is a new skin care treatment that will be offered at Rainbow Honey.  They mention they add it in most of their body care products and wanted to give us a chance to try the 100% organic shea butter.  It's unscented and does leave the skin feeling very soft.  I love it and will be getting some use out of that as my hands are very dry lately.

Sweet Mandarin Lip Sugar Scrub (.25oz) is described as "sweet and full of pucker" and part of a line of lip products coming soon to Rainbow Honey.  The lip scrubs "gently exfoliates the outer surface of your lips making your lips smooth, soft and comfortable!" I absolutely love this!  not only does it "taste" great, Rainbow Honey is absolutely right; it does leave your lips very smooth.  In fact, I don't think my lips have been this smooth in a LONG time!

Pomelo Body Splash (1oz) is an awesome citrusy scented body splash.  I spritzed some on me and I enjoy it very much.  I think I will be using this daily and it's a good size too.  This should last me the month.

First there's Summer Tan Nail Lacquer which is described as " beautiful & opaque golden glow lacquer" Have to be honest, wasn't sure if this one was a topper or a stand-alone polish until I read the description but I really like the shimmer on it.

Costa Dorada Nail Lacquer is described as "gold rush in a bottle".  I know I keep saying this about a few of my nail polishes but this reminds me of sand...but this one really does have the same color as sand.  I love the color, but am a bit disappointed that it's another "yellowish" hue.  Don't get me wrong though, I will absolutely wear this one too!

Calama Nail Lacquer is described as "the chemical reaction that occurs when copper is in contact with other elements and oxidizes over time; a gorgeous opaque green".  This is lovely; I wouldn't say it's green though, I would say more of a turquoise.

That sums up this month's Rainbow Honey!  Any questions or comments, let me know!  (oh and in case you were wondering, I have 4 Alarm Fire by Aurora on my nails right now... but it is getting removed to wear one of these beauties!)

EDIT: Thank you, Velvet Frogg for bringing it to my attention that the golden polishes' names are on the wrong bottles.  It came this way here but I must admit the nail polish description makes much more sense when you associate to the right nail lacquer.

Ipsy July 2015 unboxing

It's that time of the month where I see a pink bubble wrap envelope in my mailbox.  The sight of that envelope automatically brings a smile to my face as I know I will be trying out new beauty products for the whole month.  If you haven't guessed yet, I am talking about my Ipsybag.
For us Canadians, Ipsy is a tad more than 10$/month but not by much more; I end up paying 19.16$ in total (that's with the shipping end all included) and I get to try 5 new beauty products every month.  You'll see that this cost is very cheap in comparison to retail value of the products I have in the bag.
And as if that wasn't enough, you collect points every time you get an Ipsy bag and everything you review the products and the bag, etc.   I was able to redeem some points but I won't be getting that product until next bag.

To subscribe to Ipsy, you can click here (this gives me referral points) or you can subscribe directly with them if you prefer on their website.

Without further ado, here's my Ipsy Bag:

The bag in itself is very colorful and it's teal inside.  I love it and have already re-purposed it to store my pens in my office room. Theme for this month is Summer Loving (as seen on the card)

First thing I pulled out of my bag was the Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
On their website, this product goes for 34$ for 120g.  My sample size is of 20g so the retail value of this product is approximately 5.70$.  This cleanser has the gritty texture of a sugar scrub and has very little fragrance.  My face feels tighter after using it and it is recommended to use it 3-5 times weekly.  I am looking forward to adding that to my regimen.

Next thing I pulled out of my Ipsy Bag is Octavio La Playa  Sea Salt Infused With Algae Extract:
On their website, this product retails at 15.50$ for 4 fl oz.  My sample size is of 2 fl oz and is worth 7.75$.  The scent is floral and it is recommended to use this on damp hair and let it air-dry which I often do (I've got low-maintenance hair) so this will be a great product to try out.

Next product is Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Lip Balm in Ruby
The website retails this at 14$ and I believe I have a full-size product here.  It's hard to know since it doesn't specifically say the size information on the website.  I tried swatching the color but honestly, the color is barely there but that's quite alright with me, I love lip balms and was looking for a new one for awhile.  This one is not sticky and leaves the lips moisturized.  There's no scent/flavor to it and the hint of color is beautiful!

Next product in the bag is Tarte Amazonian Clay waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
On their website, this retails at 36$ for .32oz. My sample size is at 0.11oz and is worth approximately 12.40$.  This could not have come at a better time; I just got my hair done and I'm now blond and could use a little bit of color in the face.  This is a perfect color for my skin, it makes it looked sun-kissed without the actual effort.  I don't know if anybody else can relate but I don't tan, I burn.  So getting a bronzer in my bag was really awesome!

And finally, my last product is Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in 4 Alarm Fire
This product is on sale on the website for 7.99$.  I absolutely love the color; it is a pinky-red and it applies well.  My next manicure is definitely that. (actually think I'll be putting it on today!)

So, remember me saying the value of the bag far outweighs its cost?  I paid 19.16$ for a bag of items worth 47.84$ and that's without taking in consideration I got a beautiful make-up bag with it too.  I definitely recommend this subscription!  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to comment below and I'll be sure to answer.

Fabletics July 2015 - Last one :(

Today I got my July 2015 Fabletics outfit in the mail.  It's a pretty awesome clothing company where you can get an outfit a month for 49.95$US (or 59.95$ or 69.95$ or 79.95$).  Every time you order, you get points that can be redeemed to get more Fabletics items.  You can also choose to skip a month if you are so inclined to do so.  I really love their clothes and am sad to unsubscribe but I have a hard time resisting (hard time skipping a month) and honestly, 49.95$ ends up being about 20$ more in Canada and I can't keep that up.  So, I've abandoned ship.  I might reconsider at a later date but for the time being, I need to be more conscious of how much money I am putting into it.

Here's what the envelope looks like in the mail and this is the outfit I selected (Spice) :

I thought I'd mention the Spice outfit is not a summer outfit, I think it came out in the winter or fall.  I just could not leave Fabletics without getting the Raglan shirt.  I'll explain why this shirt is special for me.

So I don't know if you can see but this beautiful teal/grey shirt also has thumb holes! I have always wanted a thumb hole shirt and I am absolutely digging the raglan style of the shirt too.  It is light weight and absolutely comfortable! It retails at 24.95$ and it's called Fulton Tee

Teamed up with these Salar Capris in black, this is an amazing combination for a relaxing day at home.  But these pants are also quite supportive while you're doing intense workouts (which I will be doing later on today).  I have another pair of Salar capris so I know these are the best pants I own. :)  Retail value of this pant is 49.95$ So that alone covers for the cost of the whole outfit which is a great deal in my opinion.

I had some points to redeem, so I went ahead and redeemed them on a Sevan Bandeau bra retailing at 24.95$.  It's comfortable but I'm not sure how well it will hold my girls in place...I did the jumping test and it hasn't rolled down but not a very supportive bra.  This would be more of a light workout bra or a walk around the park type.  It's nice though.

Sad to say goodbye to Fabletics but we'll see what future holds :)

Nail Polish Wall Mount :)

As promised, here is a picture of my nail polish wall mount.  It's a tad empty right now, but I'm fully confident it will get populated before long. :)
